Andrea Beloff - Fine Artist

The fine artisit Andrea Beloff moved to Key Biscayne in July 2012, after 25 years in Santa Barbara, CA. She specialized herself in the complex art of Traditional Japanese Papermaking technique and knew she had something new to offer the art world that Miami is becoming.
Andrea’s art gallery/studio is making a splash in the Bird Road Art District (B.R.A.D.). Inaugurated last October at 4678 SW 72nd Avenue, Andrea Beloff Fine Art is contributing to a growing artistic area that is slowly taking flight and that holds an Artwalk every 3rd Saturday of the month. There are now 12 galleries at B.R.A.D.. It makes for a very interesting evening of art and Andrea often does live demonstrations. She also offers a children’s Summer Art Camp, as well as both children and adult workshops such as Paint Your Heart Out and Peace Out.
Focusing on broader and universal concepts now, Andrea boasts 20 years of experience collaging tropical and coastal landscapes. In the last 5 years she is collaging in a more dimensional way combining watercolor, acrylic or oil painting. At the most present time is beginning her Abstract phase.

Why did you choose to live on the island?
I chose Key Biscayne because I visited a high school friend for many years and shared many holidays on the Key and grew to love it. It felt like home. I also love the community as a place to continue to raise my two children. My brother lived on Brickell and I would be close to family again after so much time building my career in California.
What are your favorite spots in Key Biscayne?
1 - The Key Biscayne Presbyterian Church where I met many of my first friends and where I continue to meet lovely Godly people through Bible Studies and Theology classes by Pastor Dave. He is an amazing theologian.
2 - The amazing beachwalk from Key Colony to the Lighthouse.
3 - The drive across the bridge that takes you out from a little beach community into the fascinating city of Miami as well as the drive home to this paradise island.
4 - The quaint shops and cafes and restaurants where I have met many of the business owners personally, some lovely people.

What's your implication the community?
I offer Painting/Collaging workshops for children 8 and up starting in the Fall every 4th Saturday of every month, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the Key Biscayne Community Center, but I will also host it in a party room of a building on demand for a minimum of four children.
Visit Andrea's website and take advantage that she is very much desiring to share these new project ideas and inspire children to think and learn to express themselves through language and art - she is a master at creativity and is very encouraging to even the shiest bunch through her enthusiasm: www.andreabeloff.com
